Wintertime in Zillertal
The Zillertal Arena
The 143 km of slopes and 52 ski lifts offer magical wintertime fun and virtually boundless skiing excitement in a region straddling both Tyrol and Salzburg. Hills with all levels of difficulty, 40 lodges, snowbars and restaurants, ski schools with separate fairy-tale areas for the "little dudes", fun parks and halfpipes for snowboarders and, last but not least, a cross-country trail perched at 1,600 metres above sea level - the Zillertal Arena is a dream come true for all winter sports fans.
Family Holiday
We boast a whole series of slopes designated just for kids, while the Zillertal Arena's ski schools stage kids programs all the time. There is, for example, a daily pick-up service for children, a "Witch Safari", balloon sailing, kids' snowrafting, a ski disco and, naturally, a ski kindergarten!
And at the end of every ski course, it's time for the big ski races - always concluding with a special awards ceremony.

Valley piste to Zell am Ziller
Skiers have wanted this for a long time: a valley ski run that leads back to Zell and Rohrberg. As of December 2015, this dream is now a reality, with a brand-new section from the lift mid-station that drops for 2.2 kilometers until it finally ends in the valley. Whether an experienced ace or a skier with high ambitions, you are sure to love this black-rated run, not least because of its width of 30 to 40 meters. In the lower stage it is challengingly steep since – rather than adding curves that would mellow the hill – the designers decided to go for a 50-percent incline. In other words, you will be plummeting hell-for-leather towards the valley station!
Downhill without interruption: 8.4 Kilometers valley piste
The black-rated piste isn’t just a highlight in its own right, it is also a meaningful addition to the entire ski area. From now on, you will be able to carve from the Übergangsjoch at 2500 meters above sea level down to the valley, in a single ride. The valley run that has been created boasts a total length of 8.4 kilometers and drops 1920 vertical meters. Making winter in the Zillertal Arena more fun than ever!
